ENABIL Solutions is looking for experienced Oracle Database Administrators preferably with telecommunications billing business background. This individual will be responsible for design, development and administration of clustered and highly available Oracle databases needed for billing and customer care operations. This individual will be responsible for managing databases, monitoring and overall health of the databases across our customer base. This individual will also work alongside infrastructure teams, development and testing teams during design, execution and testing phases.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Service Delivery, you will be an integral part of our managed services delivery team supporting our customers across North America.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with ENABIL service delivery and development teams to contribute to our growth through new business initiatives.

• Responsible for all aspects of the database management systems
• Database tuning and performance monitoring to ensure the database performs optimally at all times
• Responsible for designing, maintaining and providing operational support for database backups and restore processes
• Implement disaster recovery procedures and processes and perform periodic tests of the disaster recovery processes to ensure they are valid and current
• Work closely with project implementation teams to install, configure and manage non-production databases
• Responsible for overall database security and staying on top critical patches and security updates
• Responsible for capacity planning taking into account growth and changes
• Responsible for implementing archiving and database growth stabilization procedures
• Work as part of team to provide 24x7 support

Experience and Educational Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of similar or related work experience
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience managing several large scale highly available Oracle RAC (10g and above) database management systems and very knowledgeable with ASM file systems
• Experience with several native oracle replication technologies including Streams, Dataguard, Golden Gate and other industry standard frameworks
• Extensive work experience in performance tuning analysis using the traditional method (custom scripts, tracing and etc.) and also through Oracle performance tuning packs
• Experience working on Solaris and Linux Operating systems is a must
• Extensive experience restoring/recovering databases due to human errors, database/datafile corruption, disaster recovery and to clone production databases for offline tests and analysis
• Very proficient in scripting languages including Unix Shell, Perl, Python and similar
• Experience working with multi-tier application environments
• Strong communications skills with the ability to clearly articulate issues to infrastructure, development teams and management
• A proven team player, experience working in a high performance and agile like environments with good analytical skills and good business acumen
• Oracle Database certification, exposure to MySQL database management, exposure to managing engineered database servers including Exadata, Oracle Database appliance and etc. is an asset
• Knowledge of the Wireless / Telecom Industry is asset
