Application Architect/Developer - Position # SD-Architect
Location: Calgary, AB

Located in Calgary at our head office; You will be responsible for helping to define and shape our service offerings. Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP, Service Development you will be an integral part of our continuing evolution as we establish and expand our customer care, billing, mediation and eServe service offerings to our existing and new customers. You will play a key role in helping to define our new services (for example by engaging with third party providers that can provide value added applications and services to our current offerings), helping to advance our product roadmap and work through application designs and development cycles to deliver well architected solutions to our customer base.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with ENABIL delivery and management teams to contribute to our growth through new business initiatives.

• As part of the architecture group, responsible for end to end application architecture at ENABIL for our Aurora Customer Care and Billing product, our eServe suite of applications and our integration framework (e.g., using Webservices)
• Understand our client’s specific requirements and be in a position to architect cohesive solutions to deliver real business benefit to our existing customer base.
• Help to develop the roadmap for our product lines in conjuction with our product project teams
• Analyze new offerings that could complement our current services by engaging with external organizations
• Responsibility for software development estimating
• Development of coding standards for use within our organization
• Engage with new clients through RFP/RFI processes and assist with customer solution presentations
• Lead JAD/JRP sessions to facilitate the gathering of requirements and application solutioning
• Work with delivery teams, participating in the design and development process for new projects
• Contributes to the successful operation of ENABIL by maintaining an awareness and knowledge of competitor’s strategies.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years in application development
• A University Degree in a technical IT discipline with sufficient technical work experience.
• Full knowledge of the software development lifecycle with hands on experience using established development methods.
• Working knowledge and hands on experience with
  • Java/Java Script
  • C/C++
  • Unix (including scripting shell/perl)
  • WebLogic
  • Oracle (SQL, PL-SQL, Enterprise, Performance Tuning)
  • LDAP
  • UML (and other OOAD)
  • WebServices Architecture (e.g., SOAP)
• Demonstrated ability in the business analysis of customer problems/requirements.
• Experience and knowledge of the IT application industry, with a particular emphasis on application management, business process outsourcing, and software solutions.
• Knowledge of the Wireless / Telecom Industry would be an asset.
• Strong communication skills – verbal, written and presentation.
• A proven team player with good analytical skills and solid business acumen.
